Hays are partnered with an established Not for Profit organisation in Darwin to recruit for an experienced Finance Manager.

Your new role
Your new role as Finance Manager will see you report directly to the CEO and manage the day to day running of the finance function and budget management. You will provide strategic advice and deliver financial reports regarding a wide range of complex accounting and taxation to the executive team across Departments. You will manage a large budget and will be integral to assisting team leads manage their own project budget. As part of the executive team you will contribute at management meetings and be an advocate for the people this organisation supports.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Provide financial accounting advice including the preparation of accounting policy and procedures to the executive team
  • Supervision of staff within the Finance Team
  • Reconciliation of accounts and statutory registers ensuring obligations are met in relation to GST, Payroll and Income Tax, FBT, Payroll and Income Tax and proactive coordination of external and internal financial audits
  • Assist in the development and management of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Provide input and suggestion to the efficiency of processes and system upgrades to improve quality of service and storage of financial data
  • Contribute towards company strategic objectives

What you'll need to succeed
Previous extensive demonstrated experience as a Finance Manager within a Not for Profit organisation; managing multiple enterprises and budgeting streams. 5 + years demonstrated experience as a Finance Manager in Australia is essential. You must have demonstrated experience operating within complex financial management systems and reporting frameworks. You must be committed to high level customer service, demonstrate leadership skills, build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, be self-motivated and possess high analytical skills
  • You will have a thorough understanding of accounting standards and demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of financial and taxation legislation
  • Experience overseeing staff
  • Experience working with multiple enterprises and budget streams
  • Competency to work as part of a team in a cross cultural environment fostering open communication.
  • Consultative approach to management with sound experience in planning and organisational skills
  • Continuous quality improvement
  • High standard of oral and written communication skills
  • Capability to achieve business outcomes working with remote workers, and geographical boundaries
  • A current Australian driver's licence

What you'll get in return

An annual salary of $110,000 - $120,000 plus super plus benefits.
