The main responsibilities for the Senior Real Estate Accountant are:

  • Oversee monthly accounting responsibilities including AP, AR, and billing
  • Perform month-end close responsibilities and general ledger maintenance
  • Work with management to prepare and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for senior executives
  • Assist development and construction accounting teams with ad hoc project work
  • Lead external audit responsibilities
  • Work with management to streamline processes and procedures utilizing new ERP system integrations
  • Perform ad hoc project work for the accounting and finance team


Requirements

The main qualifications for the Senior Real Estate Accountant are:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related filed required, MSA/post-secondary degree or CPA highly preferred
  • 3+ years of real estate accounting or public accounting experience with real estate clients
  • Advanced Excel and technical skills
  • JD Edwards or other large ERP systems experience preferred
