Role Purpose:

The Enterprise Risk Management ('ERM') team is dedicated to the continuous improvement and implementation of the framework for managing risks across QBE's European Operations including the oversight over the internal model. The work of the ERM function involves engaging with risk owners and internal model stakeholders across all key parts of the business, including Executive Management and the Board.

You will be responsible to support the successful implementation of the ERM framework across QBE Europe (QBE EO's Belgian subsidiary covering general insurance business written through the European branch network and reinsurance business) and to support the successful execution of the internal model across the whole of QBE EO including the successful delivery of internal model governance processes.

Your Responsibilities For This Role May Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Maintain ERM risk management systems and procedures across QBE Europe (QBE EO's Continental European subsidiary) in line with Group standards, including risk and control self-assessments, issues and incidents managementand other processes for risk identification, measurement, monitoring and reporting;
  • Support the production and reporting of the ORSA for QBE Europe;
  • Support the development and management of internal model governance systems and procedures (including for model validation, change, use, expert judgement and capital adjustments);
  • Assist in the performance of the model validation owned by the ERM - Internal Model Governance team (on behalf of the Senior Risk Manager and/or the CRO);
  • Support the development and management of the EIOPA Common Application Template (CAT) and Lloyd's Minimum Standards processes for QBE EO;
  • Challenge and validate outcomes of internal model governance and risk management processes, adopting a 'second line' role; and
  • Assist in the preparation of board and committee packs.

You Will Need To Be Able To Demonstrate The Following Qualities And Abilities:
  • General experience in insurance industry involving data/analysis/systems/projects, ideally including working knowledge of ERM framework and/or internal model governance processes
  • Conversant with risk management processes, language and tools/systems (ideally including internal model related)
  • Degree calibre desirable
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good engagement and relationship management
  • Good proficiency in French language desirable
