Western Sussex Hospitals is a leading acute hospital trust, with rewarding career opportunities for caring, committed and innovative people, who wish to be valued for their work and empowered to improve the services we provide. Here are few reasons to join us:

Outstanding - we are the first acute hospital trust to have received the health watchdog's highest rating in all key inspection areas. ( CQC October 2019 )

Top 10 - Western Sussex Hospitals is one the best hospital trusts to work for, according to the NHS Staff Survey, and among the top ten trusts in England where staff are most likely to recommend the care their colleagues provide. (NHS Staff Survey 2018)

Leading organisation - Western Sussex Hospitals is led by NHS Chief Executive of the Year Dame Marianne Griffiths (HSJ Awards 2016 | No.1 HSJ Top CEO 2018 & 2019) and is renowned for outstanding care, excellent staff engagement, innovation and learning.

Location - our hospitals in Chichester, Worthing and Shoreham-by-Sea are on the beautiful Sussex coast, between the beach and South Downs National Park. West Sussex has wonderful countryside, picturesque villages, vibrant towns, excellent schools and cultural amenities, as well as quick transport links to Brighton, London and beyond.

More about us - Western Sussex is an acute trust with three hospitals; Worthing Hospital and St Richard's in Chichester provide emergency, inpatient and outpatient care; and Southlands in Shoreham-by-Sea provides outpatient care and day surgery. Since April 2017, the senior leadership team has also managed neighbouring trust Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals.

Patient First - in 2015 the trust's Patient First programme was launched to empower colleagues to make lasting changes that benefit patients and to ensure we continue to improve patient care with lean management best practice at every level of the trust. Improvement huddles are just one example of extensive and ongoing cultural change that makes Western Sussex an exciting place to work. ( Watch our video )

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
