Part of the Finance Business Partnering team, this role is the lead finance business partner for WarnerMedia across the SE Asia Pacific (SEAP) territory. The primary purpose of the role is to lead budgeting and forecasting activities for the SE Asia Pacific region and to act as the business partner for the SVP & MD WarnerMedia SE Asia Pacific & China. Markets will include Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan & China. The position holder will be expected to partner with Regional and Operating Management providing support, analysis, insight, and recommendations to key stakeholders in each market.

Essential job functions
  • Manage the production of annual LRP, budget, and monthly reforecasts for revenue, direct expenditure, headcount and other related expenditure for SE Asia Pacific region.
  • Ensure that any risks and opportunities to the latest budget / forecast are correctly understood, quantified, and reflected in the forecast.
  • Partner with Regional, Local and Operating Management to ensure that all relevant information is captured and reflected in budgets and forecasts, challenging and verifying any underlying assumptions to ensure the integrity of the numbers.
  • Partner on all revenue streams including but not limited to Ad Sales, Distribution, Syndication & Digital.
  • Ensure accuracy of data and that all timelines, processes and controls are adhered to, in line with company policy.
  • Conduct variance analysis for SEAP Revenues, Expenditure and Headcount (e.g. actual versus budget comparison).
  • Provide analysis, modelling and forecasts for new cost or business initiatives and track the performance of the initiatives that are implemented.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis, forecasting and modelling as required.
  • Partner with the Accounting Shared Service Centre to gain a full understanding of management and statutory reporting of all SEAP related P&L and Balance sheet items. Collaborate on the resolution of any accounting or transactional issues, liaising with the business as required.
  • Work closely with Local APAC FDs/FBP to gain a full understanding of the business, local management accounts and operations.
  • Guide other Local APAC FDs/FBP to streamline the reporting and budgeting cycle.
  • Train/educate business contacts to use and understand financial reporting tools as appropriate.
  • Work with the Head of Finance and the wider team to improve processes and systems on-going basis.

Person specification
  • Expert knowledge of significant forecasting, budgeting, modelling and analysis.
  • Variance analysis, Actuals experience and understanding.
  • Commercial understanding of deals analysis.
  • Knowledge of SEC rules and US GAAP.
  • Use the best practice tools such as Smartview/ Hyperion, PeopleSoft, Essbase experience preferred.
  • Experience and market knowledge of specified territories, M&A including business integration experience/ knowledge of local taxation as related to M&A.
  • Qualified/ Semi-qualified Accountant of ACCA/HKICPA or equivalent professional body.
  • Solid organizational, prioritizing and multi-tasking abilities to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment and deal with a high volume of data.
  • Meticulous attention to detail but also able to review data at top level.
  • Relationship building skills.
  • Inquisitive mindset, willingness to question norms and a genuine interest in the business of media.
  • Ability to question and research detail in order to achieve a full understanding and accurate reflection of the financials.
  • Ability to communicate with and explain financial concepts to non-finance personnel.
  • Fluent English, written & verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree holder, major in Finance / Accountancy.
