Your new role
This Federal Government Agency is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled individual to perform tasks inclusive of, but not limited the following:

  • Lead and manage the functions of the Financial Operations and Systems unit, including but not limited to financial management information systems (TechnologyOne) maintenance and administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, credit card administration and travel support.
  • Supervise, guide and/or train staff within the unit.
  • Manage FMIS development projects to support strategic and operational goals, including upgrades/enhancements and system configuration of Technology One.
  • Manage the integration of external systems and interfaces into Technology One.
  • Provide finance system training by way of user manuals and workshops.
  • Develop and update relevant financial policies and maintain proper documentation of financial procedures within the unit.
  • Identify and implement business improvement initiatives to ensure operational effectiveness, efficiency and system integrity is maintained and enhanced.
  • Provide high level professional, technical and/or specialist advice to those within the organisation as well as key external stakeholders, promptly resolving staff enquiries and technical issues.
  • Provide advice and support to the Chief Financial Officer and Finance and Assurance team business units.
  • Prepare and develop high-level written work including reports, correspondence, briefings, policies and procedures.
  • Liaise and develop strong working relationships across the Agency, particularly with the Technology Team, and with service providers to ensure smooth and secure operation of TechnologyOne.
  • Promote and exhibit behaviours that support a collaborative, innovative and customer focused culture.
  • Commit to, promote and model the APS Values and APS Code of Conduct, workplace safety, equity and diversity and environment practices in the workplace.
  • Other duties and tasks as directed by the CFO.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be required to have proven success working in a similar role using TechnologyOne. You must have or be working towards CA or CPA qualifications, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proactive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
You are also required to hold a current security clearance or have the ability to obtain.
