The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the finance, accounting, and financial reporting delivery for the sorority. Leading the finance team, this position will manage, monitor and report on budgeting, financial forecasting, accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure complete fiscal stewardship and full compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions
?? Prepares, reviews, monitors, and advises on the budget.
?? Works with financial officer and sorority leadership to develop specific budget strategies / assumptions.
?? Provide budget guidance and support to executive team.
?? Review budget requests.
?? Provide data for budget preparation, including multi– year budget analysis and projections.
?? Review and approve the variance analysis data/information prepared by the finance team prior to distribution to financial officer.
?? Is accountable for the overall monitoring of the financial performance of the sorority working closely with the finance team.
?? Provides training and resources to staff to support understanding of and compliance with financial and operational policies, procedures, and standards.
?? Ensures compliance with fiscal standards and develops action plans to remediate non–compliance.
?? Develop finance team, providing learning opportunities to close skill gaps and promote career progression.
?? Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. Master's degree a plus.
?? Minimum of 7 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in non–profit organization with knowledge of GAAP.
?? People leadership experience.
?? Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and accounting for investments.
?? Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and accounting and reporting software.
?? Analytic, organization and problem–solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation.
?? Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to executive staff, international board, and other internal and external partners.
?? CPA Certification is a plus.
Physical requirements: Required frequently: sitting, repetitive hand and wrist
movements, bending, reaching and the ability to lift at least 15–25 lbs. Long periods of computer work are also required.
