SoFi is adding a Accounting Policy Director to its accounting team to help support the Chief Accounting Officer ("CAO") and Controller with the ongoing structuring and documentation of various accounting conclusions. The role will focus on accounting policy conclusions from a public company perspective.

The role
SoFi is adding a Accounting Policy Director to its accounting team to help support the Chief Accounting Officer ("CAO") and Controller with the ongoing structuring and documentation of various accounting conclusions. The role will focus on accounting policy conclusions from a public company perspective.
What you'll do:
- Fully understand the current accounting policy manual and provide feedback as needed
- Immediately become the first point of contact for US GAAP guidance on new contracts and contemplated transactions
- Codify accounting policy elections for review by the CAO and Controller
- Serve as point of contact for external auditors on accounting policy questions
- Help educate the accounting and finance team on how to implement various accounting policy elections (e.g. be well versed with implementation guidance and illustrations).
- Engage with Financial Reporting Director as needed on various disclosure questions (e.g. "-50" guidance)
- Develop working understanding of peer and industry accounting policy elections and norms
What you'll need:
- Active CPA license
- Big 4 accounting experience
- Proficient writing skills
- 8 yrs of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 ys with a Master's
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
Nice to have:
- Financial services industry experience
- Accounting policy experience at a public company
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
- Experience with Accounting ERPs
