Your role

Are you passionate about bringing systems to life? Do you have a knack for analysing IT business processes? Do you have an appreciation of Front to Back processes? Are you able to manage projects efficiently? We're looking for someone like that who can help us:

Your job will involve working with Product Owners, vendors and end users to understand business goals and the changes required to business processes to realise those goals. You will structure, refine and share these needs with design and delivery teams. As a senior business analyst, you will provide coaching on how to write user stories and how to define testable acceptance criteria. Following the scrum agile delivery methodology, you will work across hybrid teams where you will help shape the product backlog into well-refined user stories. You will perform business analysis for the change projects and will take a leading role in improving the analysis process to ensure a steady supply of stories ready for sprint.

  • be responsible for building relationships with Product Owners, stakeholders and end users to understand their business goals, issues and needs so that you can help them to create a product backlog that represents their business requirements
  • understand how the requirements contribute to the business goals and challenge those that do not support the goals
  • work with Product Owners to express requirements as User Stories with testable acceptance criteria
  • collaborate with Product Owners, stakeholders, end users, IT functional and technical architects and delivery teams to understand detailed requirements and to capture these in a standard set of deliverables
  • work with program manager to plan analysis tasks in accordance with the prioritised backlog so that delivery milestones can be agreed and met
  • guide and mentor Operations, Operations Change and development team members in analysis techniques
  • work as an integral member of Scrum software delivery teams
  • work on small well-refined stories within sprint and look ahead to prepare analysis for upcoming features

Your team

IB Securities Operations IT supports and develops all the systems involved post-execution of Securities globally. In Australia, we are currently embarking on two initiatives to deliver the IT vision for the next 3 years; ASX Chess replacement program with connectivity to the ASX CSP, and the migration of the current SHARES application to the strategical tool SYN. Your experience and skills For this role we are looking for an experienced business analyst who has a proven track record within an agile environment, you will be:

  • able to guide end users and subject matter experts in articulating requirements and acceptance criteria as user stories
  • a good communicator ensuring that program management, stakeholders and your teams understand the status and deadlines for analysis
  • collaborate with all interested parties throughout the lifecycle of a requirement
  • able to share your analysis skills and encourage delivery team members to contribute to analysis
  • eager to learn from and contribute to the wider IT community
  • Operations experience with associated knowledge of trade processing through the full lifecycle.
  • Experience in producing high quality project artefacts as a BA

To be a successful candidate you will have:

  • A strong analytical mind
  • A proven track record of performing business and solution analysis in a complex domain
  • A strong working knowledge of securities products and processes
  • A strong working knowledge of settlement and accounting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with agile methodologies
