Procurement Manager

I would like to present an opportunity for a Procurement Manager in the wholesaler industry, to effectively manage the Company's procurement function on a national basis with the objective of optimizing procurement spend. Procurement spend is R150 - R160 million (90 % local and 10% international). This is a Senior Manager role, reporting to the MD. The role is in Roodepoort.

Role responsibilities:

- Development and implementation of all procurement policies and procedures to support overall supply chain
- Visits major supply sources and personally conducts major contract negotiations Generally responsible for ensuring that goods and services are procured at the specified quantity, quality, on the required date and at the lowest cost to the company
- Clients include large project houses, architects, showers, glass installations, aluminium frames, installers, residential and industrial projects
- Responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, both short and long term, for all product categories
- Implement consolidated procurement processes and pricing across all branches including negotiation of national pricing parameters based on group spend
- Creating integrated processes and focusing resources on continuous improvement.
- Establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to procurement to enable measurement of actual performance against set goals
- Establish freight budget and analyse the monthly spend vs actual
- Work with ship site locations to improve operational and performance metrics
- Responsible for transportation analysis and savings/cost opportunities

- Functional responsibility for the national procurement function and negotiating favourable terms and contracts for the procurement of goods, services and supplies
- Developing a national procurement strategy for commodities
- Negotiating and managing contracts and relationships with vendors
- Implement systems and processes to ensure suppliers are paid, supported by set mandatory documents / info sent to creditors
- Knowledge and understanding of import / export , sea freight & airfreight regulations

Requirements:

- Relevant tertiary qualification (degree/diploma)
- Post graduate qualification in Business Administration/ Supply Chain Management is advantageous
- Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in the manufacturing industry at a managerial level
- MS Office Packages (intermediate/advanced level)
- Pastel accounting /Glasspro preferred
