Our Senior Business Analysts act as a critical connection between business users who need to make information-driven decisions and the IT teams who provide data. The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the strategies, definitions, processes, and implementation of the Publix business data governance strategy. The SBA will also work with business users to understand, analyze, and document business processes to help business users and IT associates work together to find solutions. The SBA will use his/her knowledge of the business to help develop BI solutions by building analytical data sets, helping create robust metrics, and crafting data visualizations to support their customers' decision making processes. Across all of their efforts, the SBA must focus on the importance of definition for enterprise-wide business terms and ensure they are documented, communicated, and implemented appropriately across all environments.
Additional responsibilities include:
• communicating and championing a vision and set of processes which enable Publix to adequately establish, govern, understand, and utilize analytical data
• translating business needs for information into a clear and comprehensive implementation plan to ensure the appropriate measurements and analytics exist to guide and influence decisions
• collaborating with business areas to identify, clarify, and document their current and future processes in an industry standard format such as Business Functional Decompositions, Context Diagrams, Entity Models, etc.
• providing technical consulting to business areas across Publix as needed
• representing and addressing broad business user needs and concerns and acting as an advocate for the business in major IT projects

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline or equivalent experience
• two years of IT-related experience such as program development systems, analysis, or design
• working knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
• broad understanding of system design best practices
• excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
• intermediate programming Skills (VBA, SQL, C+, Python, etc.)
• basic knowledge of Visio, Erwin, or similar modeling tools
• intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
• advanced knowledge of MS Access
• basic knowledge of BI tool (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or Master's degree in a technical discipline
• experience in communicating and relating directly with the user community in addition to IT
• Microsoft Certified Systems Developer
• advanced programming Skills (VBA, SQL, C+, Python, etc.)
• advanced knowledge of Visio, Erwin, or similar modeling tools
• advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• expert knowledge of MS Access
• intermediate knowledge of BI tool (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
