You're a qualified finance professional with some post-qualified experience. Now you're ready to join a large global company in a critical area of our business, being an expert & partnering within finance.

As part of a dynamic, global finance group, you'll focus largely on where AZ have collaborations / deals with third parties to help manage finance cost shares within development and commercialized products. Your role will be to ensure finance elements within these agreements run smoothly, especially within area of cost shares / profit shares. You will need to process finance activities in line with contractual obligations, understand both the AZ & third-party activities & ensure that cost reports, settlements and payments are paid / received in line with the contract.

You will work closely with Project Finance Managers who manage activities for the contract, you will connect with the third party & build relationships with them, plus you will work with others in AZ Finance.

This will give exposure to our R&D core business & the critically important area of third-party agreements. As such it provides great knowledge, experience & exposure within AZ Finance.

Accountabilities

Your main accountabilities will include:

Third Party Contract Support

R&D Finance Director / Manager support with all aspects of finance third-party contract including:
  • Understanding the financial clauses in signed contracts e.g. construct of cost share arrangements, trigger events for milestone payments, profit share arrangements,
  • Preparing detailed AZ incurred costs reports
  • Reviewing detailed third-party costs
  • Consolidation of finance reports and analysis of results
  • Preparing and review of settlements
  • Working with the third party to understand their forecast activity & reflecting this in AZ systems/other documents


Payments, Receipts & Underlying Accounting
  • Ensuring payments / receipts (issuing invoices) are complete & made on time
  • Accruals / prepayments reflect the contract activity
  • Balance sheet reconciliations & other financial controls are carried out
  • SOX controls requirements prosecution

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

Qualified finance professional (Master's degree or equivalent)
  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills, including oral & written English
  • Experience of accounting &/or controlling activities including:
    • month-end close
    • reconciliations & variance analysis
    • financial controls & SOX controls
  • Strong Excel skills


Desirable
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders inside & outside of finance
  • Experience of working in a global organization
  • Student of CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Ability to use financial systems including SAP & Business Objects (or similar)
