Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a fast moving manufacturing business in Glasgow looking to recruit an ambitious Head of Finance to cover 2 of their manufacturing sites. Principle Accountabilities/ Duties & Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Scottish Finance team consisting of 11 individuals, covering both operational and financial accounting, To ensure both Site leads, and their respective leadership teams, receive first class business partnering, providing clear, concise and compelling financial information allowing the teams to understand the drivers of performance and financial outcomes of operational decisions. Working with the site leadership teams have overall accountability for quarterly financial re-forecasting, annual budgeting and strategic financial planning for both sites Accountable for the financial controls and governance across both legal entities, ensuring that the balance sheet is managed, reconciled and understood on a monthly basis and all financial returns are completed on a timely basis. Accountable for annual financial audits and the provision of annual statutory accounts Preparation of robust business justifications for capital, feasibility and improvement projects, working closely with direct reports Ensure full and effective communication with all parties throughout the business, at all levels. To include all internal departments, such as - Board of Directors, Senior Leadership Team and all other company employees. Ensure that the finance team remains fit for purpose; the appropriate structure, personnel, qualifications, experience, development and training are in place to meet the requirements of the business Play an active part in the wider site leadership team, ensuring that the site continue to deliver their financial commitments whilst operating in a safe, compliant, efficient and effective manner Work closely with the group finance director and the wider finance leadership team, being an active voice in all finance discussions whilst representing the largest, most complex and profitable site within the group. As a senior member of the site leadership team, to lead by example in encouraging appropriate behavioural standards in support of the company's values and culture Experience: Degree in Accountancy or similar relevant qualification. Holder of a recognised Accountancy qualification Knowledge of UK GAAP. Has a passion for excellence and can enthuse others to have the same. Strongly determined and shows tenacity when facing challenging situations and feedback. Self-starter, capable of operating at a level well beyond day to day direction. Strong control and process orientation, logical thinker and analytical ability. Strong knowledge of business ERP system(s). Previous experience of selecting, developing and leading teams, coupled with an understanding of people management techniques. You will also be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successful completion of team objectives and will have managed comparable team sizes. Strong interpersonal & communication skills to collaborate effectively, build team consensus and influence others. Ability to manage teams objectively and to ensure core objectives are met, resolving conflicts where necessary in a constructive manner whilst maintaining team motivation.
