Responsibilities
  • Identify key risk areas / high risk taxpayers for audit through data analytics
  • Conduct field based and desk audits on large taxpayers to deter non-compliance and improve voluntary compliance
  • Review ACAP reports, identify control gaps and follow-up on ACAP related work
  • Provide assistance to taxpayers on clarification of tax policies and practises and the rationale, application of tax laws and assessments
  • Provide education to maximize voluntary compliance by conducting talks on specialized or technical GST issues

Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Possessing an accreditation by SIATP will be an advantage
  • Experience in audit and/or GST-related tax advisory would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of auditing, internals controls & accounting practices
  • Good knowledge of GST laws and practices
  • Good knowledge of the audit process, audit methodologies available, consequences of different types of audit determination etc.
  • Basic data literacy and ability to use data to support decision making
  • Ability to question, probe and analyse
  • Can multi-task and work under pressure
  • Resourceful and able to work independently in a team environment
