Your new company
Your new company is a government organisation with a commercial focus. Due to a busy period they require a Financial Analyst to join their team on a temporary basis. The contract is estimated to be 3-6 months but there is possibility for extension dependant on the skillset of the selected candidate.
Your new role
Your new role as Financial Analyst will see you support the Finance Business Partners and their respective business units in the preparation of the annual budget process. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

To succeed in this role you should be a CA/CPA qualified accountant with extensive experience in budgeting and financial analysis. You should have worked in a medium-large and complex organisation and have experience with TM1. You must be immediately available or on 1 weeks' notice. You must have advanced excel skills.

In return for this role you will receive an hourly rate of $65 + Super and work in a contract position that will see you through the quiet Christmas period. There is potential for further extension within this role should your skillset lend itself to other projects within the business.

Your new role
Your new role as Financial Analyst will see you support the Finance Business Partners and their respective business units in the preparation of the annual budget process. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure the Opex and Capex Budgets, forward estimates and reforecasts are developed, phased and loaded into the financial information system, in line with corporate and business unit planning outcomes and reporting timeframes.
- Produce analysis of organisational and business group performance including providing insight into key variances, deviations from plan and trends to inform future forecasts, identify potential risks and opportunities and understand the impact on resource and funding allocations using the organisations reporting systems
- Provide financial modelling, forecasting and analysis support to the wider Finance and Commercial Services, and to relevant business units as required.
- Ensure appropriate records are prepared and retained of the budget preparation decisions and of any subsequent Opex and Capex budget changes, so financial data is always current.
- Assist with month end business partnering including analysis of results, deep dive analysis, review of accruals and other ad hoc tasks
- Prepare financial data and analysis for business cases and support the identification and measurement of benefits.
- Produce ad hoc analysis to support various projects as directed by Head of Financial Planning & Analysis or Finance Business Partners
