DESCRIPTION
Alexa is the name of the Amazon cloud-based voice service that powers Echo, the groundbreaking new Amazon device designed around your voice. Echo is always ready - just ask for information, music, news, weather, and more. Our vision is to build a computer in the cloud that is completely controlled by your voice.
We are looking for a Business Analyst (Finance & Strategy) to help us measure and understand customer engagement with Alexa in Europe. In this highly visible role, you will use reports to analyze data, make sense of the results and explain what it all means to key stakeholders (technical and business).
The successful candidate will be expert at analyzing large data sets, have exemplary communication skills and experience communicating at the most senior level. The candidate will need to be a self-starter, very comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail.
Responsibilities
You love working with data and derive stories from it. Those stories will help your stakeholders answer key business questions. Key responsibilities will include:
• Drive rhythm of business reviews across the fiscal calendar involving multiple cross-functional teams
• Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
• Derive insights from customer feedback and usage data and translate into actionable insights
• Identify areas of opportunity to automate and scale ad-hoc analyses
• Define requirements for reporting data, customer behavior, and technical performance metrics
• Define requirements for reports and work with our international business intelligence team to integrate them into our development roadmap
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. engineering, finance, economics)
• Several years of relevant work experience in analytics or related field.
• Proven track record of successful communication of analytical outcomes through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
• Advanced experience using Excel, basic experience using Tableau and SQL
• Experience gathering business requirements, formulate metrics and build reports
• Detail orientation and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
• Self-starter, strong drive, bias for action and result-oriented with the ability to influence others at both peer and leader level, high on earns trust
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects across functional teams
• Experience with data modeling and analyzing large data sets
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau or similar tools
• Experience with AWS technologies including Redshift
