Assistant Costbase Accountant

Would you like to become part of the Finance Team within BAE Air Sector? We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Costbase Accountant at our site in Samlesbury.

As an Assistant Costbase Accountant, you will be providing accurate cost base information and support to the functions on a monthly basis, reporting cost base within the business and up to the FCAS business within the Air Sector.

This role will provide you with growth and development within the Defence Information team. There is a dedicated career path and you can move up and across in terms of progression in teams.

Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Costbase Accountant will involve:

Be the Finance lead for the Tier 2 cost-base, building effective relationships to provide and receive the information that is required.

Preparing and entering journals into the system, specifically month-end accruals and prepayments to ensure accuracy of the costbase reporting and raising any cost recovery invoices in a timely manner.

Providing information into the monthly cost base reviews within the Defence Information (DI) and Information Management & Technology (IM&T) businesses, providing DI functional managers with information to support their areas.

Planning and evaluating the quarterly cost base reforecast workings with the functions to provide information to the COO and Air Sector timescales allowing sufficient time to review within the Defence Information and IM&T businesses.

Assisting with the DI submission of the Cost base Integration Business Plan (IBP), 5 year Forecast. Ensure that the cost base IBP ties in with the DI Project IBP assumptions. Work with the business to ensure alignment of Supply and Demand of resource.

Ensuring continual analysis of overhead expenditure ensuring that costs are allocated to cost base or contract in accordance with the QMAC and financial governance.

Your skills and qualifications:

Qualified or part qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT) or equivalent

Experience within accountancy environment

Experience of presenting to clients and stakeholders

Strong communication skills at all levels

Understanding of the different financial systems

Proficient in using MS Office Package, especially Excel

Salary: £32,660
