Commercial Workout and Recovery Officer

Job Description
This position is responsible for managing and resolving large, complex, sub and non-performing commercial, commercial real estate, business banking and residential loans by negotiating and implementing appropriate workout solutions to minimize losses and maximize recoveries. This primarily includes the review and restructure of complex commercial relationships and the liquidation of same when necessary.
Essential Job Duties
Manage a portfolio of primarily large, complex, underperforming and non-performing commercial relationships, to include charged-off loans, through modifications, restructures, settlements, note and asset sales.
Collaborate with attorneys, consultants and other professionals in the management of assigned accounts and related legal and collateral protection expenses.
Perform collateral and financial analysis of complex commercial relationships in order to develop appropriate action plans with limited executive management assistance.
Negotiate complex workouts with borrowers and guarantors under oftentimes very stressful circumstances.
Recommend reserve allocations, charge-offs, risk rating and accrual status changes to executive management on a timely basis.
Utilize specialized knowledge of internal and regulatory policies and procedures to shadow critized loans that remain line managed, generally making all critical decisions regarding the relationship.
Insure executive management is kept well and timely informed of the status of all managed accounts.
Develop and maintain expertise in The Uniform Commercial Code, foreclosure and bankruptcy issues. Keep informed of developments and trends in the industry.
Adhere to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable standards, requirements, and policies.
