Full Time - Permanent Position Monday - Friday 09.00am - 17.00pm

£18k - £22k

About The Company:

We have a great opportunity to work as part of the growing Finance team to deliver the effective operations of the finance function in this exciting global business. Based in South Birmingham, and a close walk from the train station this is easily commutable from all South Birmingham locations. Reporting to the Finance Manager duties include processing data to ensure accuracy and integrity for financial reporting across the business including materials handling, stock control, expenses and sales invoicing. This is an immediate starting role, so the successful candidate must be able to start within the month of September.

The duties for the Credit Controller/ Book Keeper:

• Operating the sales and purchase ledger, in line with company policies and the requirements of the SAGE system.

• Coding of debtor and creditor invoices and raising sales invoices

• Undertake banking-related duties and processing regular payment runs.

• Administering credit control duties as per company policies

• Calculating and posting monthly journals including accrued income, provisions, accruals and prepayments

• Preparing VAT returns to ensure VAT compliance

• In conjunction with the Accounts Controller, support the preparation for year end and any interim audit visits both internal and external for quality and regulation purposes

• Assist with the bank, sales and purchase ledger reconciliations

• Produce reports and figures for the budgeting process and support all functions to work within set budgets through communication and supply of information throughout the business

• Assist in the procurement function and support directors and managers to achieve best value, including setting up of systems and contractual elements as required

• Perform day to day booking tasks

• Assisting with month end management accounts and board packs

• Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations

• Bank reconciliations

• Assisting on Credit Control

• Foreign exchange responsibilities

• Any other ad-hoc admin and accounts duties as required

• Work within the finance and administration team to support the development of internal systems including SAGE and QA

Qualifications and Experience required:

• previous experience of at least three years book-keeping in a busy accounts office

• plus AAT to level 3 as a minimum and minimum of A levels/ GCSE Minimum C or above in Maths and English

• minimum of 3 years SAGE accounts,

• must be efficient in Excel using pivots and marcos and I.T savvy

• a desire to develop your career in Finance/Accounts, committed on working on personal development

• Must have previous Credit control experience managing multiple accounts

• Excellent telephone manner and experience in communicating with external customers/ clients
