Job Description
We're looking for a skilled, full-time Senior Accountant to join a budding company in the real estate industry in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be required to perform financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities
- Partake in various department-wide initiatives
- Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
- Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
- Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
- Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
- Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
- Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Assemble monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Requirements
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
- Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
- Month end closings experience highly desired
- Financial reporting experience required
- Microsoft Excel experience desired
- Bank reconciliations experience
- QuickBooks experience preferred
- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
- Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
- Experience with ERP systems
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
