Smart Systems design aluminium windows and doors, they are part of an international group with various companies across the world and a strong presence in Europe and have been trading for over 30 years. The finance department is a team of eight, two of which are studying towards the AAT. It's a fast working environment with friendly people. They constantly strive to improve how they work and be more pro active in their approach.
Role overview:
Initially, the role will be processing invoices onto the ERP. After you become comfortable with this, you will be learning the weekly payroll processing the wages for a minimum of 12 times a year. Supplier reconciliation and bank reconciliations and payment runs will also form part of the role. Depending on your ability and drive the role will evolve to include additional responsibilities , for example the reporting of intrastate, and possibly some group and internal reporting.
This apprenticeship represents a great opportunity for anyone who wants to become an accountant as you will get a good foundation on which to build your skills, and a great opportunity to put theory learnt in your AAT studies into practice.
