Position Profile

Weaver’s Risk Advisory Services practice is seeking a Senior Manager who will lead the Financial Institutions Regulatory Compliance team and play an integral role in growing this practice. This person will have proven business development skills and a comprehensive understanding of practice development and strategic planning. They will also have the capability to direct a team including: recruitment, training, mentoring and utilizing staff members of all levels.The Senior Manager is responsible for all aspects of the engagement including: managing client relationships and expectations, ensuring engagements are well planned, effectively executed and completed timely, developing /mentoring staff, and ensuring technical and reporting requirements are met. The Senior Manager understands financial institutions (i.e. bank, mortgage companies and/or other non-bank financial institutions) – operations, compliance, accounting and auditing. This includes an understanding of regulatory examination processes, in addition to how a client’s internal controls impact meeting its compliance objectives. Their knowledge base should encompass internal control theory and internal audit standards.

Education & Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CRCM and/or CAMS required with CPA or CIA designation helpful
  • Comprehensive understanding of banking/CFPB laws/regulations and Institute of Internal Auditors Professional Practices Framework
  • Demonstrated expert of business development and practice development
  • Proven successful growth at previous employer
  • Experience supervising team members including: managing, training, retaining, development and utilizing staff to execute engagements
  • Strong project management, independent thinking, and decision-making skills
  • 8 – 10 + years of regulatory compliance experience with state or Federal banking agency, accounting/consultingfirm, large financial institution internal audit experience and/or a combination of consulting, industry experience (director of internal audit) and/or regulatory experience
  • An understanding of the COSO internal control framework, Internal Audit Standards, SOX 404 and/or FDICIA helpful
