We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team here at GFP. No experience in our sector is necessary as we recognise the value of a workforce from diverse backgrounds who bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge. We welcome applications from candidates who have a strong finance and accountancy background who are able to build strong relationships and have excellent commercial skills. These key attributes may have been developed in other industries and we recognise the value of such input.

Ideal Candidate
  • A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a good level of working experience in accounting is essential to meet the requirements of the role
  • Experience in our industry is not required, a background in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage however our recruitment process ensures that we are open to candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds
  • As the Finance Manager your customers will be at the heart of everything you do and delivering accurate information in a timely manner will be your passion
  • Whilst you will be the sole accountant in GFP you will be an effective communicator and will be able to engage with all functions that have an impact on your role and share best practice that will facilitate a smooth finance operation for the business
  • You will be comfortable in raising constructive challenge with people and processes if the end result drives a financial benefit and fosters better working relationships in the business
  • You will actively contribute ideas that drive positive results for the benefit of the business, team and customers
  • You will be self-motivated and tenacious, with excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to challenge peers and line management as appropriate
  • As the Finance Manager you will have a flexible approach to work and be adaptable to the demands of a growing business

  • Delivering accurate work with a keen eye for detail will be a given in how you approach every task within the finance function

The role - Key responsibilities
  • Reporting to our Commercial Directors you'll be responsible for the accounting and reporting of all elements of our £16m turnover site. Providing financial support to commercial management and liaising with our central accounting function on monthly reporting and group requirements
  • You will be a key part of the wider Frontier Group finance team and your technical reporting line will be into the Commercial Directors
  • You will be responsible for all elements of our statutory accounts preparation, to include liaising with relevant auditors and the wider group reporting team
  • You will look to develop improved methods of reporting on all income and expenditure streams, providing insights for the business into the company's profitability
  • You will drive continuous improvement, cost savings and efficiencies within the business by challenging processes and leading implementation of improvements
  • You will look to develop and improve the reporting and ensure systems integrity in a multi-site operation
  • You will work closely with the commercial, admin and group finance functions, to ensure local alignment with all internal and external compliance requirements
  • You will be a reliable business partner to the senior management team, providing solid financial support to help meet operational, commercial and strategic goals
  • You will take accountability to deliver relevant capex appraisals and ensure a robust follow up process is in place to drive these to fruition
