Job Description

Woring with Early science IT area, AstraZeneca are heavily investing to shift from service provider to transformative partner in the era of digital health, AI and big data, IT is a game changing partner in making digital R&D a reality.

As a BA, you'll be sat right amongst the scientists who are making life-changing medicines. You'll be focussed on early science, helping the scientists articulate the improvement opportunity and shaping those opportunities into actionable proposals and then partner with them to deliver it. You may be dealing with operational challenges like moving sites or reporting on regulatory demands or working on transformative projects building a Digital R&D capability.

You'll be based in Cambridge, but the R&D is focussed in 3 core sites including Sweden and US - East Coast, part of a team of 35 BA's lead by BA team leads. An idea may start in Cambridge HQ but the organisation is expecting global solutions on scale, so you will play a pivatal part of making this happen on a business case or a project.
  • You'll work with scientists to understand needs and partner on solutions
  • You'll work with business relationship managers to do research and develop business cases, clarifying needs, finding the value, facilitating understanding and re-imaging how things could be done
  • You'll work with PMs, architects, UX designers to develop solutions
  • You'll partner with service/devops teams to build sustainable services
  • We try every day to be more agile. If you are coming from tech, you might struggle with the slower pace of R&D , but the mood and skill set is changing and you can be part of that change
  • The leadership team is predominantly based in Cambridge.


Qualifications

  • The BA role sits at the intersection of people, business and technology, so we are looking for good communicators, able to liaise with stakeholders cross functionally at all levels, that can juggle multiple demand and adapt to be on hand regardless of what is asked.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across domain (science) and technology (IT) with a focus on delivering value, and ability to deal with conflict, challenge and guide
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst within a matrix organisataion supporting with IT Agile projects (ideally 2years minimum)
  • Deomonstrate the confidence to manage multiple projects and work in a demanding, fast paced environment with flexibility to support customer need. Always putting stakeholder at the forefront and what you do and representing IT in its best light, being a go to and approachable contact in the business.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate BA credentials- Relevant Qualification (such as IIBA or BCS) and evidenvce of how you stay abreast with change in the industry outside of work
  • Industry knowledge is not essential, although an appreciation for the sector and passion for the business vision is.
