Financial Analyst - Revenue Cycle

The Financial Analyst - Revenue Cycle is responsible for analyzing and reporting on the accuracy and completeness of Hospital & Professional Patient Service Revenue. Supporting the Professional Coder & Reimbursement Specialist and Hospital Clinics, the Analyst will work on special projects, individually or in collaboration with NEBH management, Compliance, Finance and Clinical Operations on initiatives that impact overall organizational reimbursement. The Analyst will also assist in the budget and variance analysis of NEBMA providers and Hospital clinics.

The Financial Analyst will coordinate and communicate with the Hospital & Professional Billing & Collections departments to ensure the accuracy and capture of revenues. This includes:
  • pre-authorization & insurance information
  • timely and accurate acquisition of authorizations
  • maintaining coding change requests and data logs and updating CMS & major commercial / private payers polices
  • reconcile (daily / monthly) medical coding accuracy, charge postings, denials, and cash postings

This position will introduce the Analyst to Medical Billing Terminology and practices, not limited to: Professional Coding (ICD 10, CPT HCPCS Codes); E/M Coding; Medicare & Commercial billing rules; PA and Preauthorization process; EOB & Denial codes; and Appeals processes.

Computer Skills: Outstanding Excel and Financial Modeling skills, Power Point, and database management - combined with strong Communication skills

EMR system (no experience required): eClinicalworks, Soarian, Epic System, Medaptus
