This position is critical to providing support related to Business cost controls, business priorities, and the achievement of sustainable profitability. The position requires an analytical self–starter with excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with different teams within the enterprise.Major Activities:Provide outstanding analytic support to plant area managers, developing close business connections to the operational leadersLead continuous improvement: work towards rationalized automation, optimize use of the Center of Excellence resources, and optimize the time available for analysisPrepare critical financial analysis for Plant ControllerCollaborate actively with other finance work streams: Rolling, Power Plant and Smelter Controllers, Corporate Financial Accounting and Corporate FP teamGain in–depth understanding of Alcoa's Rolling Business Unit and business driversConsolidate forecast deviations and variance explanations for rolling mill location, support business to identify opportunities to close deviation GAPs to ForecastProvide monthly financial management reporting & analysis to ControllerResponsible for monthly financial analysis and closing processesPerform special project work as required to address many complex, non–standard analysis to support executive decisionsQualificationsBachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related function2–3 years of finance/accounting experienceStrong analytical skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills, as well as presentation development skills.Well–rounded business person with critical thinking skills; self–directed problem solverExperience with major accounting programs (SAP, Oracle, etc.),In–depth experience and knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)Desire to build a strong understanding of the business and strong relationships with business managersPassion for leading positive change throughout the organizationPreferred Qualifications:Strong background in both finance and accountingExpert in Hyperion planning and reporting applicationsExpertise in corporate policies and procedures regarding financial dataExpertise in costing, budgets, bridges, forecastingFor Internal Candidates: Prior business unit experience; exposure to manufacturing location and BU FP processesAlcoa encourages applications from women, people of diverse backgrounds and those with different skills and life experiences.
