Accountemps is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper, and you might be the perfect candidate. This short–term temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Savannah, Georgia. You will succeed in this position if you're confident you can establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements. Major responsibilities – Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed – Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents – Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements – Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time – Supervising accounting clerks and entry–level bookkeepers – Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules – Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll – Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
– Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting – Comprehensive knowledge of full charge bookkeeping – Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) – Experience with general ledger – Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR) – Adeptness in Aging Reports – Journal entries experience – Capable of working independently with minimal oversight – Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience desired – Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities – High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended – Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures – 5+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping – Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports – Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request – Background in payroll preferred
