What is the opportunity?To provide independent, objective risk assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness of risk management practices, internal control, IT governance processes over IT applications, and corporate governance process areas across the Capital Markets platform and technology infrastructure. Work with management in achieving business objectives by creating solutions to improve business operations, while remaining objective and independent. Results ultimately impact shareholders, employees and clients. Engagement is defined as a specific assignment, task, or review activity, such as: an internal audit, design review, fraud examination, or consultancy. An engagement may include multiple tasks or activities designed to accomplish a specific set of related objectives.What will you do?Teamwork & Co–operation Cooperates with other auditors/audit group to effectively plan and execute audits. Openly and willingly shares information and coaches other auditors. On certain engagements, lead a team of professional auditors and be responsible for all aspects of an audit. Escalate audit progress issues to the Audit Lead on a timely basis. On certain engagements, participate in all aspects of an audit in support of the audit lead and audit director. Identify competent and sufficient resources, with relevant skill sets to meet each audit. Manage staff assigned to the engagement and review audit work for the sufficient scope and for accuracy. Cooperate with other audit groups to effectively plan and execute. Lead by example in promoting teamwork across IA through audits and related projects Draft the audit plan that ensures adequate coverage of all risks to permit the issuance of an overall opinion on internal controls and risk management practices to senior management. Oversee/manage engagement projects, maintaining IAS standards, in the planning, execution, and reporting of information. Implement audit plan, and ensure effective audit practices for traditional and continuous audits. Provide input for the development and/or maintenance of comprehensive Audit Programs to guide the audit reviews. Follow up with management for corrective action on significant deficiencies. Demonstrate a good understanding of Capital Markets business and functions – specifically sales and trading, investment banking, risk management, operations, and product control. Demonstrate a good understanding of information technology and data governance risks and controls. This includes a technical understanding of general computing controls applicable to financial services, industry frameworks, cybersecurity, and data governance. Participate in complex and confidential/special audit projects enterprise–wide as requested by senior management of the Bank. Ensure appropriate working paper evidence of findings is maintained. Manage performance of on–site audit work and review working papers when audit lead. Work with business to develop and implement a continuous assurance process. Relationship Building Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders ensuring they get maximum value from our engagement work. Provide consulting, advisory services or lead an audit of a business as required, which are practices consistent with our role to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, providing the services do not represent a conflict of interest or detract from our mandate. Effect change by assisting business management to develop appropriate action plans to address identified deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner to effectively address the issues. Keep abreast of organizational, regulatory, product, judicious and financial changes and/or trends impacting assigned business platform. What do you need to succeed?Must have Undergraduate degree or equivalent Minimum 5 years recent relevant business audit experience with a solid understanding of IT; or Minimum 5 years recent relevant technology audit experience with a solid understanding of business; or. Experiences in both business and technology audit Nice to Have Risk Management or Financial Analysis designation such as CFA, FRM, or CERA highly recommended. Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation or obtain within one year of joining IAS. Other certifications/designations (CPA, CIA, CFA, ITIL, CISSP, CISM) would be an asset.
