The Finance Manager will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports, perform monthly closing, completing forecast, developing, and maintaining departmental budgets, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring the company is in compliance with statutory laws and requirements. This position will play an integral role in the financial obligations of the college.The Finance Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This person collaborates with the department managers to ensure financial compliance across the college. He/She will lead various annual financial audits and recommend internal controls. This position also provides financial reports to the Board of Trustees and is involved in policy development.Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Analysis – manage and coordinate the annual budget, periodic forecasting, management reporting, and quarterly financial reviews.Monitoring cash flow and approving payments and disbursements.Assist and lead process improvement projects to automate and streamline current accounting and reporting procedures to maximize the contribution to strategic business goals.Coordinate and fulfill reporting requests from the parent company.Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. RequirementsEducation & Experience Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Master's degree and CPA are preferred. 3–5 years of experience in higher education preferred. Experience managing a finance department's daily operations and monthly closing.Experience performing financial budgets, including forecasting, and analyzing budgets for a small to medium–size company.Great Plains and Concur experience.A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.Strong auditing experience required.Bilingual language is a plus and Mandarin is preferred. Demonstrable evidence of innovative and progressive thinking, which has effected positive change.Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills.Ability to interact with departments outside of Finance & Accounting.Ability and desire to thrive in a fast–paced and continually improving the environment, with ownership of processes from beginning to completion.Supervisory Responsibility: YesPhysical Requirements: Sedentary work.
