The person in this role will serve as a trusted advisor to both the Manager/Director and the VP of Finance and the TaxAct senior leadership team in many key business decisions with financial impacts. Success in this role requires an ability to gather and analyze complex data, form conclusions, and present recommendations that directly influence strategic and tactical decision making for all areas of the company. The role will maintain a forecasting model and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization to ensure accurate knowledge of business and up to date factors that drive change.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMajor responsibilities of the position are listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of cost center performance against historical and budgetedAssist the Manager of Finance in developing and maintaining a multi–year strategic financial plan and annual operating and capital budgets.Provide creative recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performanceParticipate in the Accounting close process, working closely with Accounting and business leaders to ensure complete and accurate financialsResponsible for special projects to improve process efficiency and performance projects as assigned by management.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEIdeally seeking 3+ or more years of experienceBS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related fieldsAdvanced experience and proficiency in excel and powerpoint.Must possess a broad financial background including experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.Knowledge of accounting principles.Capable of listening to people, being respectful of their opinions, and a proactive ability to serve as an evangelist for change/improvement.An ability to understand complex business concepts and to be able to make good judgment when faced with choices.Possess urgency for results and a bias for action.Leadership skills and ability to gain trust.Team player with ego under control.
