Sr. Corporate Accountant
The role:The Sr. Corporate Accountant is responsible for all aspects of month–end, quarter–end, and year–end close processes for related accounts and areas assigned, including but not limited to preparation of complex journal entries, account reconciliations, other reports and analyses as needed. This role will also be responsible for preparing and verifying supporting schedules and analyses for consolidated financial reporting and SEC reporting. The Sr. Corporate Accountant will assist with developing enhanced analysis/reporting processes, identify process improvement opportunity, and assist in other special projects as needed. How you would contribute:Prepare complex journal entries for US entities in a timely and accurate manner to ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting information for assigned accounts.Prepare complex monthly account reconciliations/analyses in a timely manner to ensure accurate reporting.Understand and prepare fixed assets related journal entries, schedules and reports including the coordination with IS Finance Team to review accuracy of Project Costing Details and prepare adjustment /reconciliation, where needed, to ensure accuracy of Fixed Assets ledger.Understand Accounting rules and requirement and interpret accounting impacts accurately. Collaborate with Financial Reporting team and General Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP) Directors where needed.Research and resolve any outstanding accounting issues in a timely manner, including open reconciling items.Prepare financial statement analyses and variance explanations for US entities, ensuring that financial statements are properly and accurately recorded.Prepare schedules/analyses and assist on requests and schedules for quarterly and year–end external/internal audits and interact well with external/internal auditors.Prepare supporting schedules and/or footnotes for SEC reporting.Prepare ad hoc schedules/analysis as required, including management reporting, governmental reporting (i.e. census reporting).Ensure SOX controls are in place, perform periodic self–testing and reporting and assist in implementing new SOX controls as necessary.Proactively gain an understanding of the full accounting cycle for existing and new business process with an interest in the overall business impact and to identify potential process improvements.Ascertain work and processes are in compliance with laws, regulations and organizations policies.Coordinate with various departments such as AP, AR, Payroll, Treasury, Royalty, Tax, IS, etc. for items related to the closing process and provide assistance for any request from the departments.Handle and provide assistance on special projects.Perform additional duties as assigned.Whats special about the team:The biggest difference for this position compared to other senior accountant role is the cross–training and opportunity of learning and exposing to different aspects of business outside accounting. We rotate assignment regularly so that each team member can learn different accounts and related accounting rules and requirement. We are also deeply involved in all kinds of projects, from BOTs to lease, each project requires knowledge of certain areas and managing data source from other related teams, that is a great learning opportunity.
