Summary Objective: Accountant responsibilities include recording financial transactions and maintaining general ledger. A successful Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to ensure accounts are current and accurate. Essential Functions:Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recordedGL account reconciliationFixed asset managementManage audit schedulesManage personal property tax returnsJob Responsibilities:Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivableProduce error–free accounting reports and present their resultsAnalyze financial information and summarize financial statusSpot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spendingProvide technical support and advice on a variety of accounting scenarios and questionsReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and proceduresSupport month–end and year–end close processDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsEnsure compliance with GAAP principlesLiaise with Director of Finance & AccountingBe familiar with club policies and procedures as it pertains to the accounting functionAttend all scheduled training and meetingsAssume additional duties as assignedWork early morning, evening, and weekend hours as neededRequired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:General knowledge of the application of established bookkeeping and accounting principlesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships Ability to organize and effectively process and maintain financial records and files Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion and initiative in completing assignmentsExcellent verbal and nonverbal communication skillsExcellent listening skillsOutwardly facing professional appearanceConfidence and desire to create new relationships quicklyAbility to quickly acquire and apply new knowledge and skillsStrong work ethic that includes punctuality, organization, and attention to detailAbility to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitudeUnderstanding of basic cash proceduresBasic computer skillsRequired Education and Certifications:H.S.
