DescriptionEmployee–owned Kitchell seeks an experienced and dedicated Senior Financial Analyst to join our Northern California region in Sacramento and build a long–term career at one of the most innovative and growth–oriented building companies in the United States. OverviewProvide forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and ad–hoc analysis to all project/program teams and company management. This includes building and maintaining reports and conducting financial analysis, along with research and communication of variances and key drivers. The successful candidate will be motivated to make an impact by working through complexity while being a creative and analytical problem solver. RESPONSIBILITIES• Develop a business understanding of the financial systems and various data sources• Partner with the finance and business units to manage annual budgets, track headcounts, benchmark results, and provide visibility to regional /executive leadership teams• Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support and training to senior management• Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting• Prepare ad hoc analyses with use of financial analysis techniques and tools• Translating data into insightful information by leveraging database systems• Identify opportunities for performance improvement and automation• Spearhead the development of dashboards for Regional Financial Statements and Forecasting Reviews• Review contracts to identify financial terms including contract value and billing instructions• Work closely with the business analytics and controls team to exchange and collaborate on corporate goals by sharing useful information• Assist in gathering information for external audits• Other duties as assignedRequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required• 4 or more years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis is required • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling (macros, pivots, and lookups) is required• Experience with financial software and data modeling is required• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required• Comfort working with large and complex data sets and presenting finding to senior leadership in a concise and actionable manner is required• The ability to synthesize data, and be able to error check and reconcile own work and be able to design analysis to answer specific questions is required• Have an understanding and working knowledge of financial processes, generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls is preferred• A CPA or CMA license is strong preferred • Experience in the construction industry is preferred • Knowledge of Percentage of Completion revenue recognition is preferred• Experience with Data Analysis Expression (DAX), Power BI, and Power Pivot is preferred• Knowledge of Relational Databases is preferredWork Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a general, climate controlled, office environment.Physical RequirementsThis role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.About Our Company: Kitchell is an employee–owned company founded in 1950.
