Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will include responsibility for the finance function of a company in the Group.
Key deliverables and responsibilities:
- Responsible for internal controls for the business and strengthening controls where necessary.
- Preparation of weekly cashflow forecasts and bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of a range of other financial reports to assist management in decision making and understanding performance.
- Attendance at and actively participating in weekly HOD meetings.
- Production of monthly management accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliations to strict deadlines.
- Managing costs and identifying possible savings.
- Oversee achievement of budgeted F & B margins and working with external stock takers on variances and improvement measures.
- Review weekly labour forecasts and recommend savings where applicable.
- Review labour performance for the property after end of week and report on variances.
- Be an active member of the management team for the Property.
- Attend monthly senior management meetings and present a summary of the financial performance for the month.
- Create Supplier bank payments for processing.
- Oversee accounts payable function to ensure all accounts are being reconciled monthly.
- Ad hoc queries.
- Managing group credit card spend analysis
- Daily Sales reconciliations.
- Statutory Returns including monthly PAYE & bimonthly VAT returns
Core competencies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively as part of a team
- Strong Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work to set deadlines
- Have strong Microsoft Office skills.
Professional requirements and experience:
- Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant
- A minimum of 3 years work experience either in a busy commercial finance function or practice
