The incumbent is responsible in supporting Technical, Solution or General Ledger workstreams in end-to-end implementation of the new insurance accounting standard, IFRS 17 & MFRS 17, of the Company and ensure the delivery of project tasks at a quality and timely manner.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the technical discussion and assessments for the implementation of IFRS/MFRS 17
  • Assist in solution workstream covering new subledger solution and general ledgers set up
  • Responsible in accounting system calibration, user-acceptance test and financial reports customization
  • Assist in preparing documentation for all new processes and accounting policies
  • Propose and assist in the implementation of appropriate procedures and systems to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency as well as internal control
  • Assist in production of financial statements that are compliant with IFRS/MFRS 17 requirements
  • Oversees and guiding juniors in executing and delivering tasks assigned at timely manner
  • Liaise with various internal and external counterparties and proactively report any concerns or unresolved issues that may lead to project delays
  • Provide regular IFRS 17 knowledge sharing to stakeholders
  • Participate and assist in ad hoc tasks


JOB SPECIFICATION
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting related discipline or Professional qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-4 years related working experience
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities across various disciplines, cultures and business practices inherent to an international organization
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work independently and under pressure
  • Result oriented with a sense of urgency to follow up with project-related matters to resolution
  • Understanding of general IFRS and IAS principles are required
  • Knowledge in IFRS 17 would be beneficial
  • Preferably candidate from life insurance industry and/ or audit background
