Position Summary

The position is responsible for managing the daily activities of the finance team in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, IRS and company policies, procedures, internal controls and objectives. Activities include general ledger maintenance, month/year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, payroll and fixed assets.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly and year-end closing of the general ledger and preparation of financial reports.
  • Maintains the general ledger, reconcile accounts and perform various detailed account analyses.
  • Reviews and approves various transactions including journal entries, accounts payable, treasury, payroll, fixed assets, Sales/Use Tax, etc.
  • Provides day-to-day direction, training and support to Accounting staff.
  • Reviews, manages and coordinates all insurance activity with North America Headquarters.
  • Reviews contracts and manages tax incentives activity with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that strengthen internal controls.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting, analysis and research on various data as needed by management, operations and headquarters.
  • Coordination of quarterly reviews, year-end audit and preparation of schedules and documents for independent auditors.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.
  • 8-15 years of accounting or finance experience including supervisory preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred.
  • SAP (Finance module) experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), business practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with all company departments and vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic-thinking, and critical-analysis ability in resolving finance issues.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate level Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality standard.
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented with excellent follow-up.
