Specific Responsibilities
  • Implementation of finance and accounting policy changes.
  • Assist with the budget process for corporate cost centers as well as preparing and reporting the budget for all corporate ledgers.
  • Timely and accurate month, quarter and year-end closing of corporate financials.
  • Provide internal reports and other financial support for various department managers.
  • Preparation and presentation of budget summaries to various levels of management including senior leaders.
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly forecast process for US corporate for various required KPIs
  • Preparation of analytical analysis related to key metrics and financials.
  • Provides data analytics to answer business questions and delivers information that helps drive the business
  • Reviews documentation on all sales deduction programs.
  • Calculates buying group, rebate and shelter deductions/payments and credits
  • Audits and actively corrects, as needed, sales data in the system to support accurate rebates, deductions and commissions are calculated and paid
  • Prepares and issues weekly/monthly Operational reporting
  • Reviews broker commissions calculations.
  • Provides sales analysis on customers, products, and markets, looking at volume and pricing variances
  • Develops tools for improving the forecasting variance reporting process
  • Prepares monthly financial review material (both internal management as well as BOD)
  • Serves as the back-up administrator for the Host Analytics consolidation and budget system
  • Interacts with Senior Management including CEO and CFO on matters pertinent to internal financial reporting
  • Supports Corporate through compliance with Dover standard practices and policies.
  • Assists Corporate teams, audits, and documentation as necessary.
  • Updating monthly financial results of the division at both a plant and business unit level
  • Developing financial models for various ad-hoc analysis (IRR, NPV, and payback calculations)
  • Assisting and coordinating the entire budgeting and quarterly forecasting process. Obtains inputs / data from various team leaders, challenges inputs when necessary, and identifies variances from expectations.
  • Calculating and explaining variance analysis both at a plant and business unit level
  • Constructing economic bridges and providing commentary for monthly results vs. PY and budget
  • Analyzing customer profitability, understanding mix, and preparing margin analysis reports
  • Assisting in the development of strategic planning models
  • Understanding key business drivers and assisting project teams with financial guidance
  • Assist with Month-end close
  • Analyze and prepare monthly journal entries
  • Reconcile various general ledger and subsidiary accounts
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Handle and track incoming shipments from foreign locations
  • Initiate and monitor physical inventory and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, investigate variances and resolve issues. Reporting as required.
  • Analyze and report production variances. Assist team in determining cause and identifying solutions.
  • Update and review cost standards for overheard and labor
  • Prepare and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and production reports
  • Analyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization
  • Perform life cycle cost-benefit analysis
  • Review accounts carefully for anomalies & inconsistencies
  • Monitor work orders especially for inclusion of labor in costing and adjust procedures as necessary
  • Maintain Fixed Asset

Background Requirements
  • Degree in accounting / finance / business; CPA/CMA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance within the manufacturing industry.
  • Cost accounting experience in manufacturing/project environment preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Oracle experience is preferred. Oracle Business Objects/Business Intelligence experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, forecasting, US GAAP, SOX and other common accounting practices.
  • Significant exposure to complex financial modeling
  • Experience and knowledge within Finance (modeling, performance reporting & KPIs, and financial analysis)
