Division Finance Manager, Team Titan

DaVita is currently seeking a Division Finance Manager (DFM) to join Team Titan, which is DaVita's field organization for all dialysis operations in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina.

The role can be based in DaVita's divisional office in Charlotte, NC or Lanham, MD.

For each of his/her 1-2 assigned operating divisions, the successful Manager will serve on the divisional leadership team as the:

  • Highest level strategy and finance leader
  • Strategic advisor and thought partner to the Division Vice President
  • Division Vice President's trusted partner to drive accountability on committed actions and results

The Manager will report directly to the Group Finance Director of Team Titan and indirectly to a Division Vice President for each of his/her 1-2 assigned divisions (each with approximately 50 clinics and $200 million annual revenue). The role will be based in the Charlotte, NC area.

The following is a brief overview of the expected roles and responsibilities of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overall: Act as the strategic leader and CFO for assigned divisions
    • Thought leader: Interpret data, develop solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations to senior leadership
    • Process leader: Drive accountability to action plans committed by the Divisional Vice President and divisional leadership team
    • Coach less quantitatively oriented leaders and teammates on how to manage a P&L and leverage data to drive growth and achieve operational excellence
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
    • Proactively identify trends in financial results through analyses of financial results, variance to budget, tracking to forecast, etc. on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
    • Lead annual budgeting process across the division
    • Communicate financial results of joint venture facilities to DaVita's physician partners
  • Operations Analytics: In partnership with the clinical and operational leadership team, drive improvements in key performance metrics across the division, including:
    • Prepare detailed analyses and make recommendations to manage ongoing performance
    • Identify, validate and launch innovative methods to enhance operational efficiency
  • Growth Strategy & Management: In partnership with the Division Vice President, develop and lead strategic analyses to drive growth and profitability across the division, including:
    • Develop multi-year forecast for divisional growth
    • Analyze existing and whitespace markets to identify opportunities to expand DaVita's presence
    • Recommend multi-million dollar capital expenditures for new clinics to serve future patient needs
    • Partner with business development, legal, real estate, and other teams to manage execution of growth plans (including build-out and launch of new clinics)
  • Other strategic, operational, financial or special projects as needed
  • Supervisory responsibilities: no
  • Expected to travel up to 15% of the time

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred
  • 2 years minimum, 3+ years preferred in strategy or corporate finance roles such as consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development (M&A)
    • Demonstrable knowledge of financial statements, the relationships among them and the underlying business operations they represent
    • Experience with quantitative modeling and analytical methods, such as operations analytics, financial forecasting, valuation analyses, etc.
  • Project management experience
    • Simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple projects for competing internal clients
    • Assume ownership and accountability for projects, including the timely delivery of analyses and the quality of the final work product
    • Stretch "up" and "down" in responsibilities as needed
  • Superior communication skills
    • Successful track record of presenting to executive leadership preferred
  • Superior judgment and decision making skills
  • Superior analytical abilities combined with a high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Expert level computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel (expert), PowerPoint (advanced), Word and Outlook (intermediate)
