- Perform a variety of moderately complex accounting tasks; may also take a lead position, responsible for providing direction to lower-level accounting clerks
- The lead may provide input but is not responsible for signing time sheets, performance appraisals, hiring or terminations
- May schedule and coordinate daily work schedules, distribute and verify work, train accounting clerks in procedures and solves operational problems
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Verify accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents
- Prepare bills and invoices for payment
- Prepare checks for signature
- Maintain vendor files and communicate status of payments as required
- Identify, investigate, and follow up on billing discrepancies
- Enter data into accounting system and prepare reports

Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent training with 4+ years of directly related experience
- A clear understanding of accounting and bookkeeping procedures is required
