How you will spend your time:

Reporting to the Business Controller, your mission at Tastepoint will be to support Management and to provide proactive accounting assistance to the business. This will include, but not be limited to: the preparation of monthly reporting, assist with period-ending close process, account reconciliations, external and internal audit support, continue to develop and maintain the business's cost accounting structure, and to ensure all activities/needs are completed in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include:

Key Accountabilities
  • Participate in the month, quarter, and year end close process
  • Partner with the Senior Accountant in developing and maintaining the site's cost accounting structure and standard costs
  • Analyze and report manufacturing efficiency variances and partner with the operations team to determine corrective action
  • Assist the Business Controller and Senior Accountant on any ad-hoc requests


Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation for assigned accounts including research, calculating monthly accruals and preparing various account reconciliations
  • Assist in the compilation of monthly financial reporting packages


Processes and Procedures
  • Assist in the development, implementation, testing, and compliance of SOX controls

at the local sites
  • Prepare audit work papers for internal and external audit requests
  • Conduct physical inventories and monitors cycle count program


Business Analysis Support
  • Perform analysis across multiple types of accounts, including expenses, cost of goods sold, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between the local finance team and shared service Finance, AP, and AR teams
  • Research and assist with technical accounting and reporting issues as needed
  • Assist with creating, monitoring and reporting KPI's; key focus on inventory and cost accounting


Other Growth Areas
  • Assist with yearly budget and rolling forecasts preparation for the various facility departments
  • Support business programs toward driving YoY productivity improvements


About You:

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with f undamental knowledge of GAAP
  • 2 - 3 years of experience Plant/ Batch Manufacturing/ Cost Accounting experience preferred (food a plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.)
  • Proven competency with organizing large data sets using Excel and being able to work in a highly detail-oriented manner.
  • Other system experience desired includes Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint. SAP and Ross ERP experience a plus.
  • Teamwork and collaboration-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized and effective communicator (written and oral) with a dvanced critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on meeting deadlines, and escalate when appropriate
  • Desire to grow and advance through the organization
