What You'll Do

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will supporting the Dyno Nobel Americas (DNA) explosives business to deliver improving returns. You will support DNA in forecasting, planning and budget processes. You will be responsible for identifying and addressing issues that require focus and attention in order to improve financial performance for DNA. Other duties will include:
  • Support the budget, forecasting and reporting processes, including variance reporting.
  • Support the review and analysis of monthly financial performance, focused on key drivers and impacts to future performance. Develop MMR and other regular updates within timelines. Implement actions in response to variances, risks and opportunities.
  • Review, analyze and make recommendations regarding strategic and financial viability for Supply Chain projects where Capex committee, ET or Board is the final approved body
  • Monitor approved projects and initiatives compared to approved business case plans.
  • Understanding of standard financial analysis methods, including NPV, ROI, IRR, Payback in support of Capital investment reviews.
  • Performance of accounting journal entries and accruals for monthly financial reporting.
  • Maintain strong financial controls around all aspects of the Supply Chain function, including Dyno Nobel Transportation (DNTI) and Procurement.
  • Analysis and interpretation of cash fixed costs of the business, ensuring spend is in compliance with appropriate policies and procedures and properly budgeted and/or authorized.
  • Monitoring of key balance sheet items, including but not limited to inventory and accounts receivable, identifying and proactively addressing key risks.
  • Ad hoc project assessments including modeling support and business case development.
  • Ongoing analysis for identified business initiatives including process improvement.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Accounting or related field from an accredited four-year college. Additional skills and abilities acquired through formal education (or equivalent education, training and experience). MBA or Masters Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting, commercial or analyst experience.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge or ability to learn SAP and other accounting software.
  • Hands on analytical approach essential.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
