JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Corporate Accounting & Reporting will drive much of the external financial reporting (Form 10-Q s and Form 10-K s), assist in the research of technical accounting matters, and also have various responsibilities in corporate accounting areas. In addition, this role will assist in drafting the financial sections of a registration statement in connection with the company s planned spin-off and will play an integral role in establishing processes for SEC reporting and other corporate accounting areas for a newly public company. This position will have one senior staff accountant reporting to it. The Manager of Corporate Accounting & Reporting will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Accounting & Reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Others may be assigned.
  • Drafting, preparation and filing of periodic SEC reports such as Forms 10-Q and Form 10-K.
  • Coordinates with Finance, Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit and Legal to ensure information included in periodic SEC reports is complete and accurate.
  • Ensures periodic SEC reports are in compliance with all SEC and US GAAP standards
  • Assists in the preparation of other SEC filings such as registration statements and DEF 14A
  • Assists in technical accounting research efforts. Analyzes, researches and proposes conclusions on new accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued by the SEC and FASB; prepares memorandums regarding the Company s position and impact on the Company s financial statements.
  • Manage the accounting for asset impairments (goodwill, intangibles and long-lived assets), long-term debt and stock-based compensation.
  • Manage the quarterly basic and diluted shares calculation.
  • Assists in drafting and implementation of corporate accounting policies.
  • Provide coordination support to external auditors.
  • Supports and assists the internal audit function and the implementation and ongoing SOX compliance requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • 7+ years of experience with a blend of public accounting (Big 4) and SEC reporting with publicly traded companies.
  • Skilled in US GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations is required.
  • Strong analytical and technical research skills with the ability to interpret guidance to support own conclusions, create recommendations, summarize and communicate research results effectively.
  • Keen ability to organize, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment that requires flexibility, adaptability and deadline driven.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Webfilings (Wdesk) and Hyperion expertise is highly desirable.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
  • Public Accounting Firm: 4-5 years
  • SEC Reporting: 2-3 years
  • BA/BS in Accounting is required


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE

Include minimum certification required to perform the job.
  • CPA license is required
