Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with closing the books and preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules in accordance with US GAAP
  • Create, post and analyze general ledger journal entries for R&D activities, including consulting and subcontractor services, and other areas
  • Prepare and submit monthly account and sub-ledger reconciliations; identify and investigate discrepancies
  • Generate and analyze general ledger account activity and trends using the ERP system; investigate actual to budget variances
  • Oversee the SAGE Fixed Asset System (FAS) and maintain capital asset records, policies, disposals and transfers; calculate and record monthly depreciation
  • Review and monitor Capital Authorization Requests (CAR) and construction in process accounts for compliance with internal policies and US GAAP, review repairs and maintenance and equipment accounts, liaise with internal project managers regarding project status and close-outs
  • Work cross-functionally with Program Managers and other internal departments to understand contracts, programs, and services to support estimates and accruals
  • Review and monitor purchase requests and expenditures for R&D and overhead activities
  • Assist in budget and forecasting processes, as needed
  • Participate in the preparation of schedules to support SEC disclosures for Forms 10-Q and 10-K and other SEC filings
  • Support external auditor, SOX, and other requests, as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Accounting
  • 1-3 years related accounting experience, public accounting firm experience a strong plus
  • Manufacturing or pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • CPA or in process of obtaining CPA preferred
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills, thorough understanding of US GAAP, SOX compliance or internal control
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, must be proficient in MS Excel, as well as have general PC skills
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to communicate with staff at all levels

This position requires periodic weekend/evening work as deadlines and volume require. Remote work arrangements due to COVID can be arranged.
