Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: (Summary description of the primary duties and objectives)

The Sr. Accountant supports General Accounting and Financial Analysis by performing general accounting duties and providing financial reports. Working independently in the role, the Sr. Accountant will apply principles of accounting as they enter, prepare and analyze accounting records, statements and other reports to ensure accuracy and completeness. Additionally, the Associate in this role will provide reports and analysis in support of business account owners.

POSITION PROFILE (Major duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities)

  • Prepare month-end journal entries and perform account analysis
  • Prepare and reconcile certain intercompany accounts
  • Perform bank reconciliations and corresponding journal entries for various accounts.
  • Partner with the department owners to analyze monthly financial reporting and support the projection and budgeting process
  • Work closely with the US and International accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis, developing efficient processes around month end close and intercompany settlements
  • Assist with overall planning and budgeting process by consulting with budget owners, performing ad hoc analysis and reconciliation, and entering drivers and data into budgeting system
  • Provide back-up support to various functions including but not limited to: new vendor setup, Concur expense reporting, cashflow management, audit schedules, etc.
  • Create audit and tax schedules per the request of outside auditors
  • Produce process improvements within your area of responsibility to make tasks more efficient and accurate.
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities as those requests arise

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: (i.e. degree, years of experience, etc.)

  • Degree minimum: Bachelor's Degree
  • Specific concentration: Accounting or Finance
  • Experience level: 0-2 years' experience


SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to analyze issues/problems and present solutions to management.
