Overview

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is tasked with managing and developing manufacturing specific accounting processes to ensure the company's long term stability and success, which includes, but is not limited to, preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations; monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements; and providing regular review and analysis of the company's balance sheets and income statements. This role directly manages the accounts payable analyst and reports to the finance director.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Maintain the integrity of G/L balances and develop / maintain supporting schedules for key accounts
  • Oversee company disbursements, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor payments
  • Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Support budget and forecasting activities and review actual spend
  • Monitor, document and analyze accounting tasks and duties to develop more efficient systems and procedures and use of resources, while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Develop and implement new procedures to enhance the workflow of the accounting department
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the accounting cycle
  • Various ad hoc analysis and / or projects as assigned


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • Minimum of three years of general ledger experience
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus
  • Corporate experience preferred
