Job Description
Technology Financial Analyst
Global Publishing Company located in the financial district seeks a Financial Analyst for an immediate permanent position.
Requirements
Provide the role of Technology Financial Analyst (US) for the company's centralized Technology function. The role holder is responsible for the financial management and support for all US Technology budgets and costs.
Major Responsibilities:
• Provide finance support, guidance and challenge to the Technology portfolios.
• Manage the US month-end process, working closely with the portfolios, the PMO and central Finance
• Prepare the US Monthly Technology Reporting pack and work closely with Central Finance to ensure the report provides accurate BAU and projects costs
• Work with Technology portfolios to understand variances to budget and provide business commentary in the Monthly Technology Report
• Work with central and divisional Finance to manage and allocate all Technology costs out to the divisions, based on actuals
• Provide a key partnering role with the Technology portfolios in driving the preparation of RF/budget figures in the US, and review and challenge the figures provided
• Work with Central Finance to ensure all processes and governance are aligned with company policies
• Work with PMs and PMOs to complete business case financial information including the business case financial appraisal model for projects submitted to the Project Review Board (PRB)
• Coordinate the procurement to payment process for all US external costs
• Ensure financial KPIs being rolled out across Technology are implemented and tracked in the US
• Liaise with other centralised functions elsewhere in the Group (especially GTS) and external suppliers on procurement and financial matters
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Technical accounting for capex and opex
• Working knowledge of financials within a Technology department/organization
• Demonstrated project accounting skills and knowledge of project lifecycle
• Strong and working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting process
• Knowledge of accounting tools (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Cognos, HFM, Oracle)
• Good understanding of investment appraisal and financial modeling
• First class Excel skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience Needed:
• Background in working as a financial analyst ideally within a Technology division of a large organization
• Experience in implementing financial controls and processes
• Experience in dealing with BAU and project budgets
• Ability to work independently as part of a global Finance team within a global organization
Educational Background Required:
• Professionally qualified accountant (CPA/CGMA preferred)
Additional Information
Salary is between 85K-90K per year.
