Job Description Summary

The purpose of this role is to act as a key business partner within the company by providing Financial reporting, forecasting and guidance to the organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will work primarily with the Marketing department by supporting both the Innovation and Marketing strategy functions. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for owning the annual Marketing budget and will report monthly results versus. forecasts for all US brands. They will also support the Senior Manager in preparing financial models and P&L's for innovation and renovation projects.

This position will be required to work closely with and to maintain good lines of communication between the Finance department and all other cross-functional partners and will need to be agile to perform ad-hoc and other analyses as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Support the Brand teams in the development of their innovation and other prospective strategies, providing financial support and advice during the project stages
  • Track and monitor effectiveness of strategies and work with the Senior Manager to develop insights and present course corrective advice
  • Analyze and Identify opportunities to improve profitability on Brands
  • Support the preparation and reporting of monthly results of Advertising and Promotion (A&P) strategy, including identifying drivers of gains and losses. Providing ad hoc reports to support the business in real-time decision-making
  • Support the budgeting and strategic plan processes for A&P inputs annually and support other functions in providing other necessary inputs
  • Drive improvements in reporting, analytics and dashboards to help business leadership grow the business and make sound decisions
  • Supporting the analytics behind major projects to support the expansion of Marketing and Sales footprint
  • Analytical support to build bottoms-up reporting for A&P reporting
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies

1.) Minimum degree and experience required:
  • Bachelors degree in business-related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in an accounting, financial analysis or auditing capacity; good working knowledge of accounting concepts; public accounting/auditing experience a strong plus
  • Experience and a good understanding of a full P&L for a CPG or manufacturing company
  • Comfortable with data mining and financial modeling for forecasting sales, profitability and ROI. Utilize Excel tools, formulas, and shortcuts to convert data into meaningful reporting to drive timely strategic and impactful decisions
  • Extremely detailed and organized; excellent analytical, documentation and presentation skills
  • Self-starter, intellectually curious, and an effective planner in order to fully grasp responsibilities, plans of action, possible pitfalls, and areas of opportunity
  • Strong sense of "managing up"; keeps track of open items and issues, keeping management appraised of progress, as well as bottlenecks and opportunities
  • Ability to take full ownership of spreadsheets/processes, providing explanations and key drivers for variances
  • Quick learner; ability to multi-task and manage several processes at once (with proper prioritization)
  • Strong leadership skills and a strong sense of professional skepticism with a willingness to push back/ask questions/follow-up
  • Must have the ability to work with large amounts of data, decipher what is relevant, and summarize for management.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e. pivot tables, vlookups, nested "if" statements)
  • Ability to learn systems and software quickly (BPC and or SAP experience a plus)

Working Conditions: Work is mostly performed in an office environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week. There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. This position requires travel periodically up to 10% of the time.
