Due to COVID-19, this position will work from home until plans are finalized for employees to return to Matco Tools headquarters in Stow, Ohio.


The Financial Analyst will partner with the business leaders to analyze business results and trends for operational improvements and strategic initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparation and maintenance of key financial models and in-depth analysis of monthly operating results. S/he will also assist the Finance Manager in processes including monthly forecast/annual budget preparation; financial reporting to Corporate HQ; month-end close activities (journal entries, account analysis, financial statement preparation); and other responsibilities as assigned.


  • Assist Finance Manager with the monthly close activity including, but not limited to, financial report preparation, corporate reporting, consolidations, journal entries, etc.

  • Forecast/budget preparation

  • Preparation and maintenance of financial models

  • In-depth analysis of operating results against comparative periods

  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses, reports, and special projects as assigned

  • Sarbanes-Oxley testing and documentation

  • Prepare outside requests for information for corporate HQ, census bureau, external auditors, etc.


This person must desire an upwardly mobile career path to a higher level accounting / finance position. Ability to relocate is also desirable and may be necessary for advancement.


  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

  • 0-3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred

  • Knowledge of GAAP

  • Strong computer skills with experience in MS Excel, Word, and Access

  • Experience in JD Edwards, Business Intelligence (BI), or related software preferred
