Description

AAREN Scientific is a medical device manufacturer located in Ontario, CA that produces a full line of high quality intraocular lenses (IOLs). We are a growing medical device manufacturing company looking for experienced, highly motivated individuals to support the growth initiatives and demands.

Aaren Scientific, Inc., is looking for a General Ledger Accountant. This individual is responsible for performing daily maintenance of the General Ledger support activities, construct data accumulation systems for our cost accounting and reporting system.

Some of the duties include the following:

Create and review controls needed for data accumulation and reporting. Propose and execute process improvements in order to improve reliability and efficiency of data collection and analysis.

Prepare in depth analysis of COGM and review standard versus actual costs on a monthly basis. Present to Senior Controller. Track actions and theireffectiveness.

Oversee processing of wires and A/P to ensure accurate and timely processing.

Utilize company tools to perform cash reporting, intercompany account rec, monthly bank statement reconciliations (3rd party and intercompany cash accounts).

Calculate and ensure proper booking of all relevant royalty & commission calculations.

Maintain the fixed asset ledger and provide accurate COGS & COGM reports on a monthly basis

Assist in the monthly / quarterly / and yearly closing process, incl. but not limited to the preparation and control of the cost allocations, as well as of the accruals and reserves.

Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP / IFRS and compliance to internal company policies

Process and present all relevant reports and KPIs as needed.

Complete various projects and ad hoc analysesas needed.

Assist with annual audits (internal & external)

Propose to Sr. Controller and execute process/workflow improvements in order to improve reliability and efficiency of accounting work.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

The successful Clean Room Operator must be able to perform each essential duty with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred; two to three years related experience.

Previous usage experience in software, such as Epicor or equivalent ERP, Excel, and other tools for project management and data analysis.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and technical writing, are essential for the success of job.

Basic understanding of and previous experience in ISO standards for intraocular lenses, GLP, GMP regulation is a plus.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Average hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Due to the nature of this position, hours of work may vary. The General Ledger Accountant may be required to work long hours and possibly weekends and may be notified of the need for long hours with little and/or no notice. The ability to work the hours needed to support company objectives is required.
