Job Title: Recovery Data Analyst

Department/Division: Accounting/City Clerk-Treasurer

Annual Pay: $26,096.62

Plus competitive benefit package.

This position is expected to last roughly 2 years

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

The City of Panama City is seeking a highly detailed and analytical individual to join the City's growing accounting team. This entry-level position conducts detailed financial analysis of incoming accounts payable and reports findings to the City's accounting team on a routine basis. The ideal candidate has a strong background in analyzing large sets of financial data, is extremely detailed oriented, highly organized and communicates well both written and verbal. This position supports FEMA recovery efforts and is expected to last roughly two years.

  • Daily management of financial data and tracking of incoming accounts payable
  • Reviewing contracts and validating contractual rates with invoiced/billed rates
  • Reporting discrepancies and tracking avoided costs
  • Proactively communicating issues and findings
  • Managing multiple priorities under a full workload


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Good mathematical and statistical skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to verify data, spot trends, and identify inconsistencies
  • Good problem-solving techniques
  • Experience working with large financial date sets
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and detect discrepancies in data, including financial


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience with data analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Preferred: Associates Degree or Technical Certificate
